IMPHAL : The troops of the 38 Assam Rifles seized 55 tons timber being illegally transported out of Imphal in three vehicles. The trucks were intercepted when the troops were conducting frisking and checking at Kotlen on March 6. The illegal timber were transported in three trucks bearing registration Nos. MN-01-6189, MN-05-2437 and MN-01-547. The seized timber along with the trucks and the owners have been handed over to forest office, Imphal, according to a release.
